USDVND eases amid evolving tariff developments
This week, the USDVND cooled as the latest developments in U.S. tariff policy unfolded. Specifically, the U.S. has announced a series of blanket tariffs on its key trading partners, most recently over 30% on Canada, Mexico, and the EU. These moves are seen as potentially reigniting global trade tensions, which also weighed on the greenback. Domestically, with no new updates on the Vietnam–U.S. trade agreement, negotiations are expected to continue ahead of August 1, possibly targeting a restoration of the previously proposed 11% rate. Upcoming tariff decisions will be critical in shaping Vietnam’s role in global supply chains, especially as other countries strive to secure the most favorable outcomes from the ongoing negotiations.
